3 Ways to Pray With Thanksgiving | Acts of Prayer

Giving Thanks in Prayer

How you pray is key to answered prayer. In fact, The ACTS of Prayer  acronym is used to teach us how to pray.  The letter T represents THANKSGIVING. Today we share 3 ways to pray with thanksgiving. Giving thanks to God is a major part of structured prayer. It shows God how much we appreciate all the prayers He has answered. In addition, it encourages those prayers He has yet to answer.

In this, part 4 of the ACTS of Prayer, we address T-thanksgiving in prayer as we seek answers from God. First, we began with learning to pray for ourselves in the introduction. From there, we moved into A-for adoration. Next, discovering how C-confession is good for the soul and in prayer. Three Ways to Pray Thanksgiving

There are 3 ways to pray with thanksgiving.

  1. Start with a grateful heart. I saw an article referencing a “heartquake.” We use this term to note our hearts should quiver with gratitude regularly for what God does for us. So, lift your hands and praise Him for his grace and mercy each day.
  2. Next, thank God for being the Savior of the world. The sacrifice he made for us is so great we cannot imagine the suffering. That alone is praise worthy.
  3. Also, give Him thanks for your family and the blessings he has enriched us with in our lives.

Therefore, we conclude that Thanksgiving is not to be celebrated only once a year. It is a daily addition to our lives. Take a moment to listen to 3 Ways to Pray with Thanksgiving here:

The ACTS of prayer-Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication teach us how to appeal to God. They are designed to teach us how to pray and get results. We know that there is no rhyme or reason for our many prayers, however, Jesus did give us a model in Matthew 6:9-13 to follow in His Sermon on the Mount. Therefore, we should know there are specifics for effective prayer.

How do you give thanks to God while you pray? We would love to know.
