The simple model is made up of four words that make a big difference in how to petition God which are:

A-Adoration C-Confession, T-Thanksgiving, and S-Supplication. These words make up the ACTS of prayer model. Following these simple rules will have you refreshed and empowered as you begin to talk to God.

How to Pray Confession the Biblical Way

In this post, we move forward in our series with part 3-Confession. As stated earlier confessing your sins, or shortcomings to God frees your mind. However, confessing does not make you a weak person, it makes you a stronger person. In fact, being able to confess anything takes courage and strength. As a result, you grow closer to God when you pray and confess.

A prayer of confession opens the door leading to forgiveness. This is a part of cleansing. The Bible is filled with acts of confession, therefore, it is important to our prayer lives.

  • Daniel confessed in Daniel 9:4-6, 9-10.
  • Nehemiah confessed in prayer- Nehemiah 1:5-7
  • David confessed his sin in prayer-Psalm 51:1-4

Confession in prayer results in a humble heart. In other words, you can do it. Listen, and add it to your prayers. As we confess, we then ask for forgiveness, and God is faithful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Listen to How to Pray Confession below:

In part one we introduced Praying for Yourself. We encouraged everyone to pray for themselves. It is easy to forget to pray for ourselves, while praying for others. Listen to the short audiocast to begin your prayer journey.

After that, Part 2 of the ACTS of prayer begins the pattern of ordered prayers. As Jesus gave us the Lord’s Prayer in Matt. 6:9-13 as a model, the ACTS of prayer just condenses it more. It is not a replacement for the Lord’s Prayer. Part 2 details A-Adoration as it relates to honoring God as we pray. Oh come let us adore Him! Listen to live.
