Find Peace When Worried
How does one find peace when worried? How can you can rest assured that you are in God’s hands? When faced with situations where everyone is affected, fear is common, and expected. Fear and worry are natural emotions. The difference is those who are in Christ know that our hope rests in Him and Him alone. We spend time praying and talking with God through Scripture and faith. For instance, Psalm 34:4 reads, “I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” When we cry out to the Lord, He hears and answers. I would like to offer you a few promises, and reminders of God for times like these.
I remind you that God has an angel and angels to help us as we swim through our troubles. Psalm 34:7, “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivers them. So, encampeth will imply that the angel(s) is/are there at all times. Take comfort in this. Further, in times like these, those who know Christ, rely on his protection and strength. This is evident in Psalm 37:39, “But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: He is their strength in the time of trouble.” Therefore, do not fear in times of trouble and worldly challenges. Joy is someone strengthening and watching over us.
Rely On God’s Promises
When we cannot rely on man for promises of protection and aid us in distress, we can rely on God. His promise is also found in Psalm 50:15, “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” Simply put, we are encouraged to pray, talk to God, tell our troubles, and He promises to protect and aid us. You cannot ask for more than that! Just talk to Him. It does not have to be a formal conversation. Just talk.
God is so good He even covers us in worry along with our fears. For example, Matthew 6: 25-31, “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing?
He Continues
Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. If God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Rest Easier
Take heart. Everybody worries, have fears, and loose confidence in very difficult times, or circumstances. We all face daily lives of our own. I can assure you that through experience, and trust in God, we cannot go wrong when we cast our cares on Him. Then, we trust. Next, we watch and wait for Him to perform his miracles in our lives. The hard part is believing. Well, if you believe there is a God, then, you can believe in Him. Full stop.
